Cinema and food

«Muskatnuss, Herr Müller ! Muskatnuss !»

Thanks to Paul Lesch, director of the Centre national de l’audiovisuel (CNA), for bringing back to our school community cult scenes from great cinematographic works related to gastronomy (Louis de Funès and his famous “Muskatnuss, Herr Müller! Muskatnuss!” in Le Grand Restaurant) or simply food (John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction: “And you know what they call a Quarter Pounder with cheese in Paris? They call it Royale with cheese”).

The programme of the conference also included excerpts from Breakfast Club, Casino, Modern Times, Breakfast At Tiffany’s or – for the cannibal fans! – Silence Of The Lambs.

The presentation highlighted the place of food in our daily lives, the way it reflects our social background and values, but also the culinary curiosities around the world and the frantic quest for productivity.

Who knows what we will find on our plates in 50 years?
