Trade professionals’ evening and 5th Award of Excellence

A ‘Networking in the hospitality sector’ evening is first and foremost a not-to-be-missed event that the EHTL organises every year to thank its many partners, who contribute to the smooth running and reputation of the school.

It was also an opportunity to welcome a guest speaker, Vincenzo Manzella, Marketing Director of Luxair, who spoke about the challenges facing aviation in 2024.

It was also the occasion for the presentation of the Award of Excellence, now in its fifth year, to Thorsten Maraite, an EHTL alumnus who now heads up the Bütgenbacher Hof, an address in Belgium’s Eastern Cantons offering wellbeing and gastronomy in the midst of unspoilt nature.

On 27 February 2024, the trade professionals’ evening took on the air of a “Serata italiana”. Following the partnership signed in October 2023 with the Castel di Pietra cookery academy, the EHTL has chosen to honour the Puglia-Monti Dauni region (Italy). It was an opportunity to promote a little-known region, rich in natural beauty, picturesque villages and cultural heritage. And what about its gastronomy? Mamma mia ! A fantastic buffet featuring regional products such as wines, cheeses and charcuterie, not forgetting the trio of pane, pizza and pasta, delighted all the guests.

The warm ambience and exotic decor created for the occasion took the participants on a journey to the south of France, and gave rise to a delightful moment that the EHTL is renowned for, and for which it received many congratulations. Grazie mille for the wonderful collective dynamic, the invaluable contribution of our Italian partners and the support of the Camera di Commercio Italo-Lussemburghese.
