EHTL training restaurant
Discover Culinary Excellence at the Heart of Campus Diekirch
Starting September 30, 2025, the training restaurant of the École d’Hôtellerie et de Tourisme du Luxembourg (EHTL) will once again welcome guests at its Diekirch campus, located at 19, rue Joseph Merten, Diekirch.
The restaurant will be open for lunch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, excluding school holidays.
A Lunch That Educates and Delights
In this educational setting, students put into practice their skills in cuisine, pastry, and service, while welcoming an external clientele.
This concept serves two essential purposes:

to provide students with real-world experience of the pace and standards of the professional gastronomy sector,
- to give guests the opportunity to experience the quality and diversity of the training offered at EHTL.

This restaurant is not intended to generate volume or profit and is in no way a competitor to other restaurants in town. Its popularity with the public grows each year, and therefore, it operates exclusively on a reservation basis.

Experience EHTL is a unique opportunity to discover our school while enjoying an exquisite meal.
What you’ll experience:
Enjoy a refined three-course menu, comprising a starter, main course and dessert, accompanied by an aperitif of the day and a glass of Clarendelle or a Luxembourg white wine.
A personalised guided tour: After your meal, a student will accompany you on an exclusive 20-30 minute behind-the-scenes tour of the EHTL. Discover our workshops, our kitchens, and the areas reserved for our students, while learning about our training courses and our philosophy.

The EHTL Restaurant
The restaurant is reserved primarily for students in the “hotel accompaniment” course. 10.00 a.m.: the students in charge of service discover the dishes on the menu that day. The teacher explains the terminology, the knowledge of the goods, the food and wine pairing. This exercise allows the students to learn how to inform the customers in an efficient and accurate way. The students are then instructed on how to set up the room so that they can welcome the “customers” from noon onwards. At the same time, from 9.00 a.m. onwards, various classes are busy in the kitchen and pastry shop preparing dishes and desserts. 12.00 noon: arrival of the students who take on the role of “customers”. Control of dress and respect for good table manners are required. Good manners are essential values at the EHTL. The students on duty announce the menu and in the kitchen it’s all about getting the dishes out as soon as possible. Good coordination between the different sectors is essential to ensure that this practical exercise runs smoothly. After the customers have left, each department debriefs with the students. Several times a year, the restaurant hosts special events, such as the traditional graduation buffet.
The self-service restaurant
This restaurant is open from Tuesday to Thursday from 11.30 a.m. and is used by all students working in the various workshops (service, kitchen, pastry). The meals are prepared by the students in the community kitchen, while the desserts are made in the pastry shop.
