Enthronement of the EHTL at the Académie Culinaire de France

Recognition for excellence in training offered to young people
EHTL - Intronisation officielle
On November 9, 2020, the Ecole d’Hôtellerie et de Tourisme du Luxembourg was officially inducted into the Académie Culinaire de France. Created in 1883, the oldest association of Chefs de Cuisine and Pastry Chefs in the world supports young people and training establishments which, through their actions, promote French cuisine in the respect of its traditions and values. The Academy has 1500 members spread over 15 delegations in the Benelux countries, but also in Switzerland, Japan, Chile and the United States.

During the induction ceremony held at the Hotel Le Royal, the Academy welcomed 12 new members, including the EHTL, represented by its director Mr. LANNERS. The latter was congratulated for his commitment to training young people to excellence in the culinary professions and was presented with a diploma, badge, jacket and plaque from the Académie Culinaire de France.

Next year, the EHTL will have the honor of hosting the Academy’s gala dinner. On this occasion, the menu will be composed and prepared by the new inductees, assisted by the students and teachers of the school. It remains to wait for the evolution of the health situation which had already led to the postponement of the induction ceremony, originally scheduled for March 23, 2020.

Bruno PERDU, Ambassador of France in Luxembourg, also sent a message of support to the professionals of the hotel and restaurant industry, who have been hard hit by the crisis, and called for the return of better days that will allow them to rediscover the pleasure of eating, living in society and the joy of sharing.
